Good location, good variety. The bakery is a bit pricy. If you know exactly what bread/pastries you like, the quality is consistent and good. I decided to try new items and got the mango soborro bread and coconut cream bread. The mango soborro was $4 and was slightly sweet with no filling. I probably wouldn't get it again. I thought the coconut cream bread was going to have coconut cream inside but it was just normal cream. A bit disappointing. Overall having an Asian bakery with good variety right next to groceries is convenient.
This location has an excellent selection and is huge! The staff upfront is super helpful, and it's always clean.
Unique and well done. Clean and stocked. Prepared food, supermarket and household items. H Mart is all Korean, a bit Latin and a fun experience. Great place for gifts, teas, chocolates and fruit. I was impressed with the selection of types of pomelos. Star fruit, jackfruit, guava pears and more. Worth a trip to have the food options available here.
I took my friend to her first-ever Hmart here the other day, since she lives in an area that has basically no Asian grocery stores. She was SO excited, and I was too. Out of the Hmarts I've visited (Gaithersburg, Wheaton, and this), I think this is the best one so far. Since I came later in the evening, there wasn't much traffic and a ton of parking available. In comparison, this location is much larger and spacious to walk around. There were so many things I had never seen in the snack section, the ramen section, the side dishes, and prepared frozen items. Even the infamous frozen kimbap was here! It's difficult to find the Trader Joe's one, but I felt like it was even hard to find the Hmart ones because apparently, they're only available at this location. Actually, all the viral TikTok items were at this location (frozen kimbap, sweet potato bread, pink pineapples, and so much more). Which is sad for me, because now I have to drive like 40 mins to get them.
Visiting my sister so I wanted fresh produce. I drove out to H-Mart and of course they didn't disappoint. I bought the sweetest strawberries and mandarins! I had been looking for fresh figs and of course they had them! As well as a great assortment of Pocky's for my nieces and nephew. Great store with all of the items I had been looking for. It was very quiet and the staff were stocking the store. I'm sure if I had actually needed assistance, someone would have helped. The indifferent ambiance was perfect for getting what you need!
We were so sad when Golden Bridge closed. Now we have to travel much further away to go to an Asian grocery, so we have to plan ahead, make it an adventure. We are also on a mission to find an affordable, non-coated, stainless steel wok with a flat bottom. We failed at that mission, but came away with a great selection of ramen and items for our Lunar New Year hot pot. HMart is a bit overwhelming for me. There are so many things that I don't recognize, and I consider myself a foodie. I wish I had the money to buy more random things so I could figure out how to prepare them, to see if they're something that I would enjoy. This is how I discovered sweetened black vinegar (the best dumpling dipping sauce IMO), spicy banana ketchup, tocino seasoning (great on pork ribs), and a thousand other delights. But right now I have to keep some control of my spending, and that's just not any fun. We left with $100 worth of stuff. I'm excited about all of it. Last night we tasted cumin lamb Lay's potato chips and they were INCREDIBLE. An absolute explosion of meaty, spicy flavor. The store is large, and clean. The employees scurry here and there, stocking shelves and being helpful. It's a very welcoming place, and great for exploration. I wish there was one closer to home, but it is totally worth making the trip, especially for those of us that learn about other cultures by eating their food. Would recommend.
This place is good on so many levels. First let's talk produce, you can get and kind of pepper, potato, mushroom, greens, sprouts, tofu, and vegetables that you see at your normal grocery except it is fresher and cheaper. Next seafood....... The freshest and more varieties than I have seen in a long time. As far as meat, don't look for cheap cuts full of fat, all meat is trimmed and package lid daily. Condiments..... every kind of sauce or mix, rices, noodles, soups that you can want. Probably 60 different soy sauces alone. Also you can buy a wok or some chop sticks. Stick around a while and eat some of the best Korean dishes at their in house diner. Don't forget a milk tea and pastry on your way out. Make sure you go to customer service and get your discount card on your way in. This place is awesome. It is always clean and the staff makes the place welcoming, great vibe.
I absolutely love H-Mart! It is by far my favorite one so far. The market is spacious and offers a wide selection of fresh produce and other items. I especially enjoy the variety of bubble tea options and the adorable cafe. It's worth the drive to this location, even if it's just to browse and indulge in some delicious treats!
